Biography Miracle

Miracle is started in 1996 by a group of musicians who had played together earlier in other bands. Also helped by good connections through the Queen fan club, the band already has some gigs in an early stage. It immediately becomes clear that the power of Miracle lies in the natural sound of the band approaching the sound of Queen so very well.

In addition, Miracle stands out from other Queen cover bands in their choice of the strong, less well-known Queen material, and because it is not a look-alike act, but presents its own show instead. For these reasons, Miracle gains a lot of popularity in a short period of time, especially among Queen fans, and becomes a returning attraction of the annual Dutch Queen fan club convention.

In later years, more gigs in front of non-dedicated Queen audiences follow, and also then Miracle shows it can bring increasingly larger masses into exultation with their rendition of electrifying Queen hits. In 1999, Miracle release their first live album, and do their first gig abroad (England).

In later years increasingly more prestigious gigs follow, among which a main act at the international Queen fan club convention in Wales in 2002. On December 24th 2002, Miracle made its nation-wide debut on Radio 2 with an alternative version of Bohemian Rhapsody, named Boheemse Spijtoptant in the programme of the famous Dutch DJ Frits Spits.

In 2004, Miracle release their second live album and their first DVD, and many gigs both domestic and abroad follow, including Iceland and Switzerland (Montreux). On these occasions, Miracle play live on Icelandic national television, and arrange a workshop in collaboration with Peter Freestone (Freddie Mercury's personal assistant) and David Richards (Queen producer since 1986). In 2005 Miracle makes its debut on Dutch national television (Vara Live, RTL News) following the Queen and Paul Rodgers tour.

In 2006, Miracle celebrates its 10-year anniversary with a full-blown gig at the Dutch Queen Convention, with fireworks and guest artists including Robbie Valentine.

At the end of 2007, the band is confronted with the unexpected death of guitarist Rudi de Jong. In response, the band receives support from all over the world, including Brian May. Early 2008, Miracle finds a new guitarist. In this line-up, some important gigs follow including a return to the international Queen fan club convention in spring 2009.

In summer 2009, singer Johnnie leaves the band. A new lead singer is not easily found. During his time, the band plays remaining gigs (a.o. Montreux in autumn 2009) with various stand-in singers. In 2010, a new guitarist (Jaco Dekker) and a new lead singer (Jordan "Giordano" Trey) join the band, allowing Miracle to quickly find their way back to the top, ready to make 2011 a top year with gigs in Iceland and Germany.
